How to become a Republican presidential candidate:
1. Say ignorant and/or bigoted things to conservative audiences.
2. Blame the media for accurately quoting you.
3. Make a wink-wink-nudge-nudge apology to appease everyone else while reassuring the ignorant, bigoted base you said what you meant.
